For the third time this season LSU gymnast Rheagan Courville has been named SEC Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday.

Courville is the first LSU gymnast to earn three SEC Freshman of the Week honors in one season since the SEC began awarding the distinction in 2009.

A Baton Rouge native, Courville helped LSU tie its season high in a 196.850-194.900 victory against West Virginia in the home finale.

She earned her fourth all-around title of the year with a season-high tying 39.500, and she also picked up her seventh vault title of the season with a 9.925. With the two titles against the Mountaineers, Courville upped her total to a team-leading 17 individual titles this season, the most by an LSU freshman since April Burkholder won 20 in 2003.

Courville also earned SEC Freshman of the Week distinction after winning all-around titles against Kentucky on Feb. 3 and Alabama on Feb. 24.

No. 8 LSU travels to Duluth, Ga., for the SEC Championship at 3 p.m. CT Saturday in the Gwinnett Arena. Live audio of the meet will be available on www.LSUsports.net/live.
