Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) will host its first ever 2012 Bayou Challenge on Saturday, October 6. This inaugural event will be held at LSU’s Alex Box Stadium.

The BRCC baseball team is gearing up for what could be an exciting competition, as two in-state rivals, Delgado Community College (DCC), and LSU-Eunice (LSUE), are scheduled to play. State College of Florida (SCF) is participating as well.

The team is really excited about playing at the legendary stadium on LSU’s campus that seats more than 10 thousand.

“Since I was a kid, I always wanted to play at Alex Box Stadium,” said Robert “Bo” Parker, a sophomore outfielder from Minden, LA. “I am really excited about the opportunity to compete in this type of environment.”

Parker is also hoping for a big crowd.

Head Coach of Men’s Baseball, Coach LJ Dupuy, is equally as excited.

“Playing at Alex Box Stadium gives us the opportunity to showcase the talented players from BRCC, Delgado and LSUE to the great baseball fans in the Baton Rouge area,” said Dupuy.
