Brock Kantrow, a former college basketball coach, has created a new training tool called the Ball-Buddy.

Kantrow, now the Executive Director of Baton Rouge’s Team Sportsplex, noticed the need for something like Ball-Buddy while watching players drag metal chairs across the basketball court to spin the ball to themselves.

Metal chairs were too low for players to grab the ball. The potential for metal chairs to damage the court was also an issue.

“There has to be a better way,” Kantrow said.

The Ball-Buddy is height adjustable, and the rubber base prevents scratches on courts.

The stand puts the ball in the perfect position for a player to work on various types of cuts and movements all over the court.

Three years in the making, the Ball-Buddy has now been tested and is ready for production.

Former LSU players Garrett Temple, Glen Davis, and Darnell Lazare have trained with it and back the product.

Kantrow’s Kickstarter page, “Assist yourself (and us) with the Ball-Buddy,” has raised over $4K of capital to begin production with 30 days to go for the campaign.
