The Kentucky Wildcats have a new head football coach.  The university hired Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops. Stoops is 45 years old and is the brother of Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops. He has spent the past three seasons in Tallahassee.

The Wildcats became the first of four SEC teams to replace their head coach.

Stoops will replace Joker Phillips who was fired earlier this month after going 13-24 in three seasons at Kentucky.

The Wildcat defense gave up an average of 391 yards per game this season.

Auburn, Arkansas and Tennessee are still searching for a coach.
