It’s going to be a wet weekend here in Baton Rouge, which is going to create a mess for football fans

“We are urging motorists to take caution as they travel on our highways as there could be high water and flooding in some areas,” Mayor Kip Holden said.

The National Weather Service is warning that the atmosphere will be conducive for thunderstorms and potentially heavy rains on Friday, Sept. 20 through the following day.

Like fans, the NBC33 Sports team isn’t afraid of a little rain. Our team will be out at the games tonight and we will update the status of the game via Twitter and will post scores once they get rolling on our High School Football Scoreboard.

As for Saturday, LSU fans will no doubt brave the conditions to show support for the Tigers as they take on Auburn. However, Southern University fans have a bit of luck with an away-game against Miss. Valley St.

You can keep ahead of the storm by downloading the NBC33 mobile app. Our Interactive Radar allows you to zoom in down to the street level.

And of course, if you plan to hit the road to go to any game this weekend, please exercise caution on the roads. Before you leave, you can check our Traffic section to see if there are any major delays.

When you do make it to those games, make sure to snap some pictures and send them to news@nbc33tv.com. We’ll add them to our photo gallery! Make sure to include where the photo was taken.
