Hornets Partner with Salvation Army

POSTED: Monday, September 14, 2009 - 6:34am

UPDATED: Thursday, June 3, 2010 - 10:58pm

This season the Hornets have partnered with The Salvation Army to launch the Emerge program, which provides incentives to 6th, 7th and 8th grade Recovery School District students for perfect attendance at school.

After reaching the first benchmark date, 97 percent of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students from Mary D. Coghill have perfect attendance and will each receive a $100 gift card to Wal-Mart courtesy of The Salvation Army and the Hornets.

Sean Marks will be on hand to congratulate and hand out the gift cards to each student.

The Hornets will be visiting nine other schools this week to provide the more than 1,500 RSD students with their $100 gift cards.
