New Orleans Hornets power forward David West will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee. The two-time all-star hit the hardwood in pain with just seconds remaining in regulation in the Hornets Thursday night win over the Utah Jazz.

"Obviously we are very saddened by this news," Hornets general manager Dell Demps said. "David is the ultimate warrior and competitor, but an even better person and we know that he will bounce back in time."

Recently acquired Carl Landry is expected to fill in for West. The Hornets are currently the seventh seed in the Western Conference with ten regular season games remaining on the schedule.
