BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — Monday marked the 49th day that temperatures reached at least 95 degrees in south Louisiana. That heat makes Rick Hayes, head athletic trainer at Southern University, a busy man. Hayes spends his time on the football practice field taking care of over 100 athletes. Making sure they are all good to go for the upcoming season. And that is no easy task.
