Pass Happy

Indianapolis Colts: Andrew Luck has had another off-season to grow and get acclimated to the NFL game. Reggie Wayne, T.Y. Hilton and new addition Darrius Heyward-Bey should have plenty of time to get open downfield, and Luck has a solid pair of TEs in Dwayne Allen and Coby Fleener. Additions to the offensive coaching staff should only improve the passing offense in 2013. This week's opponents, the Oakland Raiders, have one of the weaker pass defenses in the NFL and the Colts should have no problem moving the ball against them through the air. To boot, the Colts' run game is still a bit in flux with Ahmad Bradshaw and Vick Ballard fighting for carries. Solid Starts: Luck, Wayne, Hilton Good Start: Allen Sleepers: Heyward-Bey, Fleener

Dallas Cowboys: The DAL-NYG matchups are typically barnburners, and we expect this nationally-televised tilt to be no different. Tony Romo should have no problem throwing on the Giants' secondary which was ranked near the bottom last season. To add salt to the wound, the G-men IR'ed two of their top safeties before the season has even kicked off. Dez Bryant should have a huge game and Jason Witten should be a receptions-gobbler. Miles Austin may even get into the mix as Romo exploits the holes in the secondary. Solid Starts: Romo, Bryant, Witten Good Start: Austin Sleeper: Terrence Williams

Run Happy

Atlanta Falcons: This game should see plenty of aerial fireworks but the ground game will be in use too, especially by the Birds. The Saints' rush D was "for the birds" last season and we don't see much difference here in the 2013-14 season. New addition Steven Jackson should have a field day on the ground and will be involved in the short passing game too. Those in PPR leagues could even look to Jacquizz Rodgers if they are struggling to fill a flex spot this week. Solid Start: Jackson Sleeper: Rodgers

Minnesota Vikings: News flash: Adrian Peterson is good. Not only that, he absolutely torched the Lions in their two contests last season and there's no reason to think the Vikings can't come out of the gates handing the ball off to Peterson 25 times in this game. The Lions were middle-of-the-road in terms of rush D last season and we don't expect them to improve much this year. AP should easily top 100 yards and score while catching the ball a few times too. Solid Start: Peterson

Bonus Sleepers:

Alex Smith (QB - KCC): Smith is hovering around the very-high teens to low-20's in most expert rankings this week. But what's not to like? The Jaguars won't contain the Andy Reid offense and Smith is chomping at the bit to prove his old team wrong. He'll have a solid effort here in Week 1.

Vick Ballard (RB - IND): The IND backfield situation is still a bit cloudy and while Ahmad Bradshaw is clearly the better overall back, he saw a grand total of ZERO snaps in pre-season. Even if Bradshaw starts this game, Ballard will get a share of the workload, and the Oakland rush D isn't anything to write home about.

Ryan Broyles (WR - DET): The Vikings D will do everything in its power to limit Calvin Johnson (likely unsuccessfully) which should open up plenty of opportunities for Broyles. In fact, if Broyles can stay healthy, he's a solid bet to haul in a ton of catches this season.

Brandon Myers (TE - NYG): It remains to be seen how much Eli Manning will rely on his TE. Carson Palmer leaned heavily on Myers last season, and with Nicks/Cruz both battling lingering injuries, Myers could come into play quite a bit on Sunday night.
