BATON ROUGE, LA (WVLA) In a special meeting Thursday night, the EBRP School board approved setting aside $100,000 for the lease acquisition of the former Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired. The School Board will work in conjunction with the Mayor's Office and the DA's office to make the old school a truancy center that will house several other agencies with the purpose of making the lives of students and their families a little easier. Diane Atkins, Superintendent of Instructional Support Services, says the new center will be a "one stop shop" that will save families time and money spent traveling across town to different offices.
