BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) -- Unemployment in the U.S. just reached a seven month high, as the grip of the national recession refuses to loosen. But here in Baton Rouge, the economy is beginning to bounce back.

Sisters-in-law Lindsay and Lauren Whittle opened "Cupcake Couture" on the Boulevard at the Mall of Louisiana the day after Thanksgiving. And so far, their sweet treats are a hot item. Experts say that's a sign the economy in Baton Rouge is on track for a record recovery.

My name is Robyn and I'm the patron in the video. The bananas foster cupcake was divine! It was moist and had the absolute best frosting that I've tasted to date! The flavor of the cupcake was so authentic, that I know some natural ingredients must be in play. Extract would not have made that awesome of a flavor. I recommend it to all. Cupcake Couture rocks and the decor is beautiful!
