(continued from below). Before it became a bar, it was also a thrift store with some sort of night shelter for homeless people (who were unkindly called "winos" at that time). Previous to that, it had served many other uses, including a temporary morgue for a flood and also during the 1918 flu epidemic. One old reference suggests it was a feed store for awhile as well. During the years we owned it we experienced the same phenomena reported in the video, as well as flying glassware. (more...)
