Comparing Lake Peigneur to Bayou Cornes is bad science because the two events are not even similar-- Lake Peigneur disaster, an inland drlg barge sitting in the lake and drill into a pre-existent cavern the salt mine tunnels .
The Bayou Corne event was solution mining of salt in the dome too close to the outside wall. TxBrn moved up the cavern to continue mining and preformed a required pressure, which failed fracturing out the side of the cavern. The sinkhole formed through the fracture ---
