China's latest spat with Google continued thursday with government authorities accusing the internet giant of making up a recent hacking attack. Last week Google said it had broken up an effort to steal the passwords of hundreds of gmail account holders, including U.S. government officials, Chinese human rights advocates and journalists.
This is just the latest salvo by the Chinese government, on monday an official Beijing newspaper said Google has become a, quote, political tool vilifying the chinese government. The paper also warned that Google's statements could hurt its business in China. Google says the attack on its network originated from a city where China's cyber military training base is located.
