NBC News — Senator John McCain arrived in Bangkok, Thailand Monday to meet with officials there. McCain met with the Thai Prime Minister to discuss several issues, including neighboring Myanmar. Thailand is home to some 100-thousand Myanmar refugees, living in camps along the border.
McCain will travel to Myanmar later this week, he is scheduled to meet with Nobel Laureate Aung San Suu Kyi on Wednesday. McCain said he wants to see Myanmar move towards real democracy and urged the government to release some two-thousand political prisoners.
