Gonzales, La (NBC33) — -If you smell something delicious from Ascension Parish, it’s most likely the aroma from more than 100 Jambalaya pots.
It’s the 44th annual Jambalaya Festival in downtown Gonzales this weekend. The city of 9,700 swells to more than 25,000 each year at this time. It pumps up the economy by filling hotel rooms and are shopping centers.
Mayor Barney Arceneaux says people travel from all over the world to partake in this Louisiana specialty.
