BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC) — There's a new paper ballot scanning system coming to the Bayou State.
The Secretary of State's office says the machine allows for a quicker and more efficient way to retrieve ballots.
The digital scanning system will reduce the amount of ballot pages per election. It will also reduce the amount of time required to count paper ballots on election night, thus reducing cost.
