BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — The LEAP test results are in and Louisiana’s students are improving.
Those scores show that 42 or Louisiana’s 70 school districts saw gain in the percentage of students at basic and above. These include East Baton Rouge, Livingston, Ascension, Central and Zachary.
The numbers also show that 2,300 more students in the Bayou State ae achieving at or above grade level. School districts showed similar improvement.
The numbers were not all good though. More than 20,000 of Louisiana’s students are still struggling at below grade level and Tyler knows it’s going to take some hard work to fix that problem, “Despite our progress, we’re not there yet and we won’t be there until every single child is at grade level”
