NBC News — President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama met with Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton. It was the royal couple's first royal duty as a married couple.
The Prnce and Duchess greeted the Obamas in the Grand 1844 room of Buckingham Palace. It was the first time Kate had undertaken a role as a member of the royal family since her wedding. There were no television cameras or reporters in the room for the meeting.
William and Kate will be visiting the U.S. during their first overseas tour as a married couple, which begins at the end of next month. The Obamas met the royal couple shortly after arriving at the palace ahead of the formal ceremonial welcome in the gardens.
