VIDALIA, La (NBC33) — Agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries have been helping state and local agencies to fight flooding near the Vidalia Convention Center.
Agents were called out Sunday evening when water breached a HESCO basket barrier that had been protecting the Vidalia Convention Center on the riverfront below the Mississippi River Bridge. LDWF has been rotating six agents and boats 24 hours a day to help with sandbagging efforts and to help maintain the makeshift levee at the facility. So far, no water has gotten into the convention center.
