Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — A former New Orleans Police officer convicted of writing a false report on a deadly police shooting after Hurricane Katrina-- gets a new trial. New evidence has surfaced since the December conviction of Travis McCabe. The body of the victim, Henry Glover, was found in a car in September of 2005, four days after Katrina hit New Orleans. In his ruling, a U.S District Judge said he believes the jury probably would have acquitted McCabe if the newly discovered report was available.
