BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — This morning Governor Jindal flew over the levee system. This afternoon he held a press conference at the Governor’s Mansion.
Water is overlapping the levee at Angola, but it has not reached the inner levee system. The Army Corps of Engineers is considering opening the Morganza Spillway as early as tomorrow.
The National Guard has been mobilized to the Angola area, and Governor Jindal has requested more resources from the Federal Government.
