BATON ROUGE, La (NBC 33) - The Capital Area Transit System is still in the red.
According to records released at its monthly meeting, it is still scheduled to run out of money by October. According to CATS C.E.O. Brian Marshall no set plan is in place to bring the transit system back from the brink.
Marshall went on to say that CATS is doing everything it can save money including plans to cut off air conditioning on its buses for half the day and to put cameras on all of its buses, “It’s an expense. It’s a federal government expense and that federal government expense will give us the opportunity to better defend ourselves.” Marshall is talking about defending CATS against accidents that could take place on one of their buses.
