BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — A special day for people in Louisiana, as one of the nation's most famous American flags made a stop in the capitol city.
The flag was flying from the twin towers on the day of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. It was found by firefighters, and seven years later, tornado survivors in Kansas stitched it back together. Now, that flag is making a tour across America, and people fom all over the country have been given a chance to help sew it back to it's original 13 stripes.
Once the flag has made it to all 50 states, it will go the National September 11th Memorial Museum being built at the World Trade Center.
