Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Chef Jeremy Campbell is off to France. That’s because he won a week’s long competition at the Louisiana Culinary Institute on Friday, April 1.
The event is the Culinary Institutes 3rd annual “Race to Cannes” competition. He beat out fellow culinary school student Bryan Poche in the final round.
By winning, Campbell will spend three weeks in Cannes. He will spend his time cooking at the film festival, which takes place next month.
"It’s very satisfying,” Campbell said about his win. “It's really been a long competition and with work and school and fitting this is there. It's really a big payoff. It's very nice."
Campbell’s winning dish was required to use pompano, squid, octopus, sun chokes and fennel in its list of ingredients.
