A high school student has been arrested for brining a gun to school.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office says the student brought a .22 caliber handgun in his backpack to McKinley High School. The principal was alerted and a search was conducted. That’s when they found the weapon in the student’s locker.
The gun was not loaded and no bullets were found in his possession. When questioned, the student explained that he had been paid $30 to hold the weapon for someone.
The teen was booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
