April 1, 2011 — BATON ROUGE (NBC33) - At LSU today, students with the Young Americans for Liberty Organization are trying to call attention to the National debt.
The group stopped everyone they saw today on campus and gave them a fake bill for $128,000.00.
They say that's how much every taxpayer would have to shell out to get rid of the National debt.
Club President Greg Huete says it's important for the younger generation to understand what the challenges are.
"We wanted to get out here and push about the National debt. We wanted to let people know that it's over fourteen trillion dollars, which comes out to be about 128,000 a person per taxpayer, or about 45,000 for every citizen." said Huete.
