Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Keep Louisiana Beautiful is asking everyone to post pictures of litter and trash on the group’s Facebook page.
Each week, they select the best of the worst; that person receives a t-shirt that says, "I posted trashy pictures on Facebook."
So far, the campaign has seen great results, as over 100 photos have been submitted already.
"The goal is to get people active, get people thinking,” stated Whitney Breaux, a social media specialist. “A lot of times with liter, people kind of ignore what's going on. They see it on the side of the road, but they don't even realize that it's there - so we're trying to get people to see it. See litter, see where it is, and help us clean it up."
The group is also going to launch a video campaign called “Pick It Up or Pay It Out”. It's open to students of all ages.
