Surveillance video that shows a boy walking up to a house and stealing a 6-year-old's bicycle is on its way to Florida's Cape Coral police Department. Sick and tired of dealing with thieves in and around their Cape Coral home, Margie Mitchell and her husband decided to fight back.
"We just are fed up with it and it just keeps getting worse and it just doesn't stop so we decided to get the security," said Mitchell. And sure enough, months after the couple installed the cameras, they caught a thief on tape while he was stealing their 6-year son's bicycle.
"One of the kids jumped off the back of his bike, grabbed our son's bike and they rode off," said Mitchell. This all happened last weekend. Mitchell says her son came inside for about three minutes for a drink and when he went back out, there was no bike to be found.
In the surveillance video you can see a young boy go right up to the house, hop on the bike, and take off. "I was really surprised that it was a young boy like this," said Mitchell. Mitchell plans on taking the video to police and has a message for the thief: "You stole a bike form a six-year old boy who would really like to have it back," she said.
