Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — At the LSU Student Union, over forty students were getting ready to empower youngsters with backpacks on March 28.
It's part of Lemonade Day, a huge initiative sponsored by Raisin’ Canes aimed at teaching kids how to start, own, and operate their own business, a lemonade stand.
The students prepared over 2,000 backpacks.
Lemonade Day is May 7, but LSU students felt great pride in giving kids the tools they need to succeed.
"Just by filling a backpack, I know some kid will walk away with ultimate knowledge, kind of a start, and a push that takes them to really start becoming an entrepreneur. That's very important at a young age," stated Kenny Nguyen, President of LSU Entrepreneurs.
