BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) — Early Sunday morning, someone took aim at Arthur Reed's home, and fired more than twenty. Reed is better known as Silky Slim. He has been in a gang and in prison, but turned his life around ten years ago, after being the lone survivor of a car crash. Now he is on a mission to save others in Baton Rouge from a life of crime. And even though the guns have been turned on him, Reed says, he's not afraid.
Reed said, "It takes an animal to do the types of things that we are doing to each other right now. If you try to shoot in someone's bedroom, not knowing if a kid or someone is in there. You don't know if other people were there. That's an animal and they have a place for animals and it's cancelled Angola and I guarantee you, if I find out who did it, I'll make sure that you're put behind bars. Trust me."
Reed thinks the shooting was meant to silence him. But he says it just fuels his mission to 'Stop the Killing'.
The Baton Rouge Police Department is investigating the shooting at Reed's home. As of 6pm Monday, there were no suspects.
