Baton Rouge, La (NBC33) — Four drafts of proposals to shrink Louisiana’s congressional delegation from seven to six have been offered to the State House Committee working on redistricting efforts.
Each scenario would heavily redraw the U.S. House of Representatives districts and pit two incumbent congressmen against each other.
In two of the four proposals, Republican Congressman Charles Boustany of Lafayette and Jeff Landry of New Iberia would be moved into the same district.
A special redistricting session begins on March 20.
