FUKUSHIMA JAPAN (NBC NEWS)- Radiation continued to leak today from a crippled nuclear plant in tsunami ravaged Northeast Japan.
Evacuees from areas around the Fukushima plant took refuge in the city of Koriyama where they were tested for radiation exposure and given a convention hall to sleep in.
Some 70 thousand people evacuated from a 12-mile radius around the plant, but 140-thousand remained when a new warning was issued.
The Japanese Prime Minister said that radiation had spread from the three reactors at the plant.
He said crews are working to avoid further leakage.
