A Tornado Watch is in effect for... EAST BATON ROUGE, EAST FELICIANA, LIVINGSTON, POINTE COUPEE, ST. HELENA, ST. TAMMANY, TANGIPAHOA, WASHINGTON, WEST BATON ROUGE, WEST FELICIANA, IBERVILLE, ASSUMPTION. Thunderstorms continue to develop and move NE over the area most containing very heavy rainfall and frequent lightning. Some thunderstorms may become strong enough to contain Tornados. Stay alert and if dangerous weather approaches stay indoors away from windows still storm has passed. Seek stronger shelter if needed, use the interior portion of your home for protection.

A VERY MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL REMAIN OVER SOUTHEAST LOUISIANA AND SOUTH MISSISSIPPI THIS MORNING IN ADVANCE OF A COLD FRONT. HEAVY RAINFALL HAS ALREADY FALLEN IN SOME PARTS OF THE WATCH AREA. ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAINFALL MAY RESULT IN FLASH FLOODING. The Flood Watch continues east of the Mississippi River today. Take care driving this morning and do not drive any vehicle over roads covered in water. Heavy rainfall, mostly this morning, continues to develop and move over the same area causes runoff from rain to flood streets and drainage areas. Flood watch is in effect till later this afternoon. Area rivers continue to rise stay updated on the lastest flood information.
