Jimmy Brown, 21, was taken into custody for killing 23 year-old Wayne Pierson.
Baton Rouge police say Pierson was shot after gambling with a group of people on Monet Drive.
Brown has been charged with Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of a Dangerous Weapon.
BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) – Two more homicides strike the city of Baton Rouge.
The first happened around one-fifteen this morning on the 600 block of Monet Drive. Police arrived to find twenty-three year old Wayne Pierson with a gunshot wound to his head. He later died from the injury while receiving treatment at Baton Rouge General Midcity Hospital.
The second incident occurred a little more than four hours later on the 1700 block of Scenic Highway. What police originally thought was a traffic accident, actually turned out to be an undientified male fatally wounded by a gunshot.
