BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) -- World-renowned pianist Christopher O'Riley is back at the LSU School of Music.
This weekend, you can hear him perform with the LSU School of Music Orchestra at the Union Theatre.
This prestigious artist is known for his piano arrangements of alternative artists, ranging from Radiohead to Nirvana. He's currently the Artist in Residence at the university, and also teaches in the Master series.
"Hopefully, I'm able to impart some information that isn't specific to just that person or just to that piece of music, something that a lot of the kids can use," stated O’Riley.
"Even if we're not participating in the master class,” said Sarah Rushing, a sophomore in the LSU School of Music, “we can observe them and watch him teaching, and, of course, we get to see his performances, which are incredible."
Stephanie Archer, a member of the LSU Master program, states, “Master classes have been very informative and educational, and I haven't even been in one to play. But just sitting in the audience, I've learned a lot from him."
His performance is Friday night at 7:30 at the LSU Union Theatre.
