BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) – A thirteen-year old student brought more than just his homework with him to school. He brought a .38 firearm, too.
The student brought the gun without ammunition to Parkview Baptist School on Monday, Feb. 14. School administrators were given a tip that the seventh-grader had the gun on campus. That’s when the East Baton Rouge School Drug Task Force took charge of the situation.
The gun was allegedly taken during a burglary. The student was charged with Aggravated Burglary, Felony Theft, Carrying a Firearm or Dangerous Weapon by a Student on School Campus, and Illegal Possession of a Handgun by a Juvenile. He was placed in a juvenile detention center.
