BATON ROUGE, La (NBC33) – Louisiana is now third in the nation when it come to the film industry. But when the cameras stop rolling, the work does, too. A new post-production company is hoping to change all that.
From "Flypaper" to "Dragon Eyes," Cutting Edge Group (both filmed recently in Baton Rouge) has had a hand in over two hundred movies filmed within the past two years. Most of which were filmed right here in Cajun country. The company has had so much work here lately that they’re opening a new office right here in Baton Rouge.
The company is currently completely work on the score for "Never Back Down 2," which wrapped here in the Capitol City back in October. Now they’re in need of about 20 tracks to fill open spots on the film, and they want to use local musicians to get the work done.
"We're looking for original music and if you are an original band, this is an opportunity,” Jeremy Pleasant of Cutting Edge Group, explained. “It's an opportunity to get your music not only in movies being done now, but in movies that are going to be done in the future."
Pleasant says he’s looking for high energy rock music on this project, but that they’re accepting inquires from all types of genres, too.
