BATON ROUGE, La (EBRSO) -- East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Detectives arrested a man today following a high-speed chase after he allegedly robbed his mother and burglarized his brother.
William Travis Hoover, 41, of Baton Rouge is charged with Simple Burglary of an Inhabited Dwelling, Theft, Simple Burglary, Attempt Theft of a Motor Vehicle and 2 counts Damage to Property.
According to reports, after allegedly burglarizing his brother, Hoover allegedly robbed his mother at gunpoint and stole her vehicle at approximately 1:05 p.m. Deputies arrived on scene as Hoover was pulling out. He fled from deputies and flipped the vehicle at Burbank and Bluebonnet where deputies placed him under arrest.
Hoover is also charged with Armed Robbery, Simple Burglary, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, Aggravated Flight, Aggravated Obstruction of Highway, Resisting an Officer, Reckless Operation and Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon. He is also charged with Improper Passing, Speeding, Running Red Light, Driving on the Shoulder of the Roadway, Passing in a No Passing Zone and Improper Lane Usage.
