KROTZ SPRINGS, La (NBC33) -- The new Krotz Springs police chief isn't flying solo anymore. In the last several weeks, Chief Norman Mouille has hired three new police officers and added six dispatchers to the department.
That's after almost all of his original police officers quit when he took office in early January. According to reports, Mouille had not spoken to those officers about whether or not they would have jobs once he took office, so they all found other employment before he was sworn in.
However, Mouille says all is well in Krotz Springs. He told NBC33 News that the small town has been quiet since he took office, but he is still happy to be fully staffed again.
