BATON ROUGE, LA (NBC33) - Temperatures are expected to flirt, even dip below freezing Tuesday night. Plumbers say the low tempertures could spell lots of trouble for you and your home.
When temperatures fall, the number of burst pipes spike. That could lead to hundreds, even thousands of dollars in damage.
Gary Babin is a plumber for Central Plumbing. He says covering insulating the water price is quick, inexpensive, and easy. He says ten minutes could save you lots of money.
The job is done buy cutting, covering, and taping foam pipe to the existing water pipe. Babin says the job is simple enough that many homeowners do it themselves. Area plumbing companies also go out and perform the service for their customers.
