BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA)- It's a happy ending for the Cangelosi family. Charlie Cangelosi, the man who was shot in the stomach while preventing a robbery from happening in Tigerland nearly a month ago is out of that hospital bed.
In his Caringbridge journal, Charlie says he's gaining his strength back and has been able to take his "dog" for walks. Charlie says he's even contemplating going back to class!
In his most recent journal entry Charlie thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers during his three plus weeks in the hospital. He says "I know without them my family and i would not have been able to get through this.
I feel very blessed to have so many people out there praying for me."
Also in that journal Charlie is asking for one more favor. A lot of blood was used to save his life and he's asking anyone who can, to come donate more blood to replenish that supply.
A blood drive is set for this Saturday December 4 at the University Lab School you can give blood any time between 10 am and 4 pm there.
