LAFAYETTE, La (WVLA) - Ricky Bustle is out as head coach at Louisiana-Lafayette. Bustle went 41 and 65 in his nine year tenure at the school. The Cajuns had only one winning season with Bustle at the helm. UL-Lafayette ended their season Saturday with a 23-22 victory over UL-Monroe.
UL Athletic Director David Walker said "a football program is ultimately judged by wins and losses."
Bustle who was not at the press conference Monday said "I gave nine years of my life and my son to this program. Everyone wanted more, but we could only get to the six win mark. I will continue to support Ragin' Cajun athletics in any way I can and wish the new football staff the best. Hopefully fans will get their trip to the new Orleans bowl."
UL-Lafayette has not been to a bowl game since 1970.
