NEW ORLEANS, La (WVLA)
November 27, 2010
Saturday morning attendees of the Bayou Classic got haircuts and health screenings.
Its the first annual free health fair put on by State Farm. The fair was sponsored by the HIV/AIDS program and the Black Barbershop Health Outreach Project.
People would come in and get a free haircut, only if they got a free health screening right after. These haircuts would boost someone's self confidence, and potentially save their life.
BBHOP's ultimate goal by 2012 is to treat more than half a million people.
