CENTRAL, La (WVLA) – As your family sat down to Thanksgiving dinner, two families in Central saw their homes consumed with flames.
Firefighters were called the scene around 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 25. When they arrived on Oak Tree Street, they found that high winds had kicked up the flames, causing the neighbors home to catch on fire as well.
The blaze originated in the storage shop of the first home. Although no one was home at the time of the incident, firefighters did rescue a small dog from one home.
A total of $210,000 worth of damage was caused by the time the flames were extinguished. The Red Cross is assisting the families and investigators are looking for the cause of the fire.
