BAKER, La (WVLA)--The former superintendent of Baker schools is taking the system to court.
Dr. Estes Taplin says he was on sick leave when he says was wrongfully terminated by the school board in September. Taplin says board minutes prove his contract was renewed at a meeting in June.
Taplin says even though he rejected the offer it doesn't mean he quit. He's asking for monetary damages and to be re-instated as superintendent in Baker.
Board president Doris Alexander says she's calling a special meeting to discuss the lawsuit in the next few weeks.
