BATON ROUGE, La (WVLA) -- In a press conference this morning the Baton Rouge Area Chamber along with parish leaders announced the creation of a new company called Great Southern Galvanized. The new business will stimulate an estimated 100 jobs for the East Baton Rouge Area.
The new jobs will start at an hourly rate of $15. Great Southern Galvanized plans to begin hiring for the new positions midway through 2011. Those Parish leaders available at the press conference today included Mayor Kip Holden, Metro councilman Trae Welch, District 1; Adam Knapp, President and CEO, Baton Rouge Area Chamber; as well as representatives from Great Southern Galvanized.
