CHAUVIN, LA (WVLA) - Ever since the Crisis on the Coast put fishermen out of work - many had no choice but to go to work for BP.
The main job was helping the oil giant clean get the oil out of the water, and out of the marshes.
Kim Chauvin owns the Mariah Jade Shrimp Company. She had some boats in her fleet on the Gulf cleaning the oil. She says being on BP's payroll - and "frustrating is a nice word". She says workers weren't paid - and her boats were damaged.
Her company hasn't returned to shrimping. Chavuin says she's hoping that day is sooner rather than later.
