BREAUX BRIDGE, La (WVLA) – Sixty pounds of marijuana turned up after the St. Martin parish Sheriff’s Office executed a warrant. Also found in the home were prescription pills, a handgun, packing materials and a scale.
Along with all of the drug paraphernalia, officers also confiscated twenty-four dogs. Dog fighting materials located in the home indicated that the animals were being used in illegal dog fighting rings.
Perum Williams, 28, of Breaux Bridge was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana, Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and 24 Counts of Animal Cruelty.
