ST. MARTINVILLE, La (WVLA) – A new synthetic chemical product could end up in stores around Baton Rouge. The effect of the product is similar to speed and parents are being cautioned because it may be disguised as a bath salt.
The St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office says that this product is sold over the counter at convenience stores for about $16.00 for a fourth of a gram. They say it’s known to be added to cocaine for increased euphoria.
Although the package clearly states that it is not meant for human consumption, there have been reports of individuals overdosing on the product.
